Email to Classmates - Sent 3/31/06

The Scott High School Class of 1981 25th Year Reunion will be September 8th and 9th, 2006. We are very excited and we hope you will plan to come. It’s going to be great to be together again.

Here’s what’s happened so far.
The last reunion planning meeting was September 16, 2005. Attendance – Jimmy, Gary, Michelle, Tony, Dean, Dale, and myself (Jeff).
Reunion Date – September 8th and 9th: Friday Football (Scott v. Chapmanville), Saturday Pinic (Lick Creek Park was suggested), Saturday Evening (Charleston House Holiday Inn) (Decided on September 16, 2005).
Pam’s mother will Cater the picnic. The price for the picnic is $15 individual, $25 a couple, $35 a couple with one or more children. (Decided on September 16, 2005)
Darrell reserved a hospitality room which is on the same floor as the club at the Holiday Inn.
I (Jeff) have signed a contract for a block of 20 rooms to reserve at the Holdiay Inn. If you reserve the rooms three weeks in advance it’s $72 (which is a good price). You can call the Holiday Inn to reserve a room at (304) 344-4092.

The Next Planning Meeting is April 2
The next planning meeting is April 2 at 3pm at O Charley's (on corridor G going into Charleston phone 746-0920 – it’s near Lowes). Everyone is invited. Everyone! We want to get input from as many classmates as possible. It will be great to be together and visit. As we visit here is the suggested agenda for our planning meeting on Sunday April 2.

1.) Review decisions already made (see above),
2.) Review and correct contact info.
3.) Divide up names to continue future search.
4.) Discuss mail outs,
5.) Discuss D.J. (Do we want Larry Barker or one of the DJs from the list that the Holiday Inn Catering sent me?),
6.) Request donations to help Darrell with the cost of the hospitality room which is $250. Since the hospitality room will be a place for classmates to meet we should help Darrell with the cost. I (Jeff) will donate at least $50 for the hospitality room.
7.) Open for discussion on other matters related to planning the reunion.

The most challenging part of our preparation will be the search for ALL our classmates. We currently have most of the contact information for our classmates but there is still work to do. We want to make sure everyone’s name, address, phone numbers, and emails are current. If you make contact with a classmate or relative please document it and email it to me (even if they say they are not coming to the reunion). We want to keep a record of all of our efforts to contact everyone. Annette told me that eleven of our classmates have died. It’s hard to believe that they are no longer with us. We will set up a memorial table to remember them at the reunion.

Please plan to come to the planning meeting on Sunday April 2. Please bring your yearbook. We need a yearbook or list for everyone who attends the planning meeting. This will help us as we review the current contact info and divide up names to search for contact info we have yet to obtain.

Thank you Annette for all your internet searches, phone-calls, and for our daily conversations. Thank you Barbra for all your phone calls and emails. Thank you Darrell for all your searching, phone calls, trips to Charleston and for reserving a hospitality room at the Holiday Inn.
